Discover your home interior style: What three words best describe it?

Or in my case what three phrases….

Do you have a personal home interior style?

Maybe this isn’t something you have considered, but defining your personal home interior style can reduce the number of potential costly mistakes and ensure that you create a serene, cosy home you love to spend time in.

If you’re interested in discovering your own personal home interior style, you may want to read my simple step-by-step guide.

My personal home interior style

When I think about my own personal style, it’s quite obvious as the same “theme” runs throughout my entire home.

While it’s impossible for me to limit to just three words, here are three phrases that encapsulate my style:

Less is more

As a self-confessed minimalist, the less is more approach is something I live by daily. I can’t stand clutter and regularly have a good sort out, finding new homes for “stuff” that is no longer needed.

Embracing the beauty and simplicity of a minimalist home is not only good for the soul, but it’s also good for the mind.

Tidy home, tidy mind

And, when it comes to housework; it’s far easier to dust beautiful clear surfaces, compared to a unit with dozens of “knick-knacks”.

Quality over quantity

Investing in quality, timeless pieces for your home is essential.

I personally prefer to combine style with function. Having something that is a beautifully crafted piece of art and also practical is the ultimate goal.

Quality investments may cost more initially, but if you’re still loving that chair, dining room table or sofa ten years later then its been a worthwhile purchase. This approach is not only more sustainable but also ensures that your home remains stylish and functional over time.

Always add your personality when turning your house into a home.

Remember, it’s your home, where you will spend a large majority of your time, so make the space work for you.
